Throughout the years
Bli Bli House is much more than a luxury retreat—it is a remarkable piece of Queensland history. Originally constructed in Gympie in 1874 during the height of the gold rush, this magnificent Victorian manor has stood the test of time for more than 150 years. In 1975 the house was carefully transported over 100 kilometres to the Sunshine Coast, where it became part of the much-loved Nostalgia Town heritage attraction before beginning the next chapter of its extraordinary journey.
In May 2001, owners Phil and Merryl Greenbury purchased the historic property with a bold vision: to transform it into one of Australia’s finest hosted accommodation experiences. Over the following sixteen years they painstakingly restored, renovated and expanded the home, preserving its Victorian character while introducing the luxury and comfort expected of a five-star boutique retreat. The journey included adding elegant guest suites,
The entire house was relocated to a stunning Maroochy River frontage in 2014, and completely redeveloping the estate with new accommodation, reception areas, dining facilities and beautifully landscaped gardens. The house was dismantled into three sections, transported to its new riverside location and lovingly reassembled—a remarkable engineering achievement driven by a passion to preserve its heritage.
