Rooms are tastefully furnished in Victorian style, lovely... read more antiques, breakfast on a trolley, silver service, spacious rooms, beautifully clean and lovely little touches of hospitality such as a stocked sweets trolley with cakes, biscuits and lollies. Breakfast was delicious, and very ample, with cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and a choice of cooked. We were treated so very well.

But the best thing was the incredibly friendly welcome we got from Phil and Merryl who went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one.

  Our flight was diverted due to bad weather and we were stranded with nowhere to stay. We had tried calling a number of places that either didn’t answer or couldn’t... read more help, but just after 10pm we got through to Phil and Merryl who offered a room waited up for us. They even drove us to the airport in the morning when our taxi got stuck behind flood waters so that we wouldn’t miss the rescheduled flight! On top of that, the bed was really comfy and the breakfast was tasty. Thank you so much!

We had a lovely night. Although we had planned on eating in, this wasn’t an option when... read more we arrived. No big deal, we drove down the road and purchased some prawns, which in hindsight sight, it was nice sitting on the verandah watching the sun go down, eating prawns and drinking bubbles.
If the people in the next room didn’t wake at 4.45am on a Sunday morning and turn the TV on and talk reasonably loudly for that time of the morning, everything would have been excellent!
Breakfast came at the allotted time. Again, nice to sit on the verandah and take our time. No rushing to leave early.
We didn’t know what to expect prior to going, however we would definitely go back again…. More

We enjoyed cheese and wine down on the river in the afternoon to watch the sunset, played chess in the yard. Enjoying the magnificence of this beautiful home.
Walking around the rooms freely - you’ll find a library - pool table and a media room with a projector. A candy trolly that’s always full. Many antiques and vintage paraphernalia throughout. The rooms are beautiful and the beds super comfy. Strawberries & Chocolate left as a surprise at our door. It’s all about the little touches.
There are plenty of places to dine close buy - Teppanyaki was a favourite.
Meryl and Phil are incredibly Host.

Was looking forward to in house dinner and breakfast, but dinner was off the menu due to health issues the lovely hostess had. The breakfast we ordered for the morning consisted of: crepes, fruit salad, bacon and fried tomatoes, yogurt, juice, pastries, tea and coffee. And was cooked and presented perfectly and delivered straight to our door. We ate out on the verandah overlooking the river, food was excellent and so was the view. Spent too much time in the spa, came out a little cooked, nothing a little rest on the comfy bed couldn't fix! Overall will definitely do again sooner rather than later, maybe even next anniversary. A delicious breakfast of our choice was delivered to our room on a silver service trolley each day which we enjoyed on our veranda overlooking the neighbouring gardens and River. The hosts, Merryl and Phil are wonderful and provided lots of additional touches such as welcome chocolates and cakes available in the guest lounge throughout the day. We also arranged an afternoon tea at the House during our stay which was absolutely amazing and great value for money. Super place to stay - we hope to return. More

  Hosts are so welcoming, amenities are exceptional and overall an outstanding place to stay. Well located closely between beach and country. Breakfast was delicious.
