The city of the Sunshine Coast a wonderful place to holiday and presents an abundance of things for the visitors to do. From the pristine white beaches of Mooloolaba to the ranges of the hinterland there is plenty to please everyone. If you are looking for ideas , spend some time in the drawing room going through the many leaflets and ideas.
Bli Bli House is positioned in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Just a few kilometres from the Sunshine Motorway connecting you by road to everything you may wish to visit. We are just a short 20 minute drive from the hinterland. The Sunshine Coast Airport is just 5 minutes from our door for our interstate visitors.

BLI BLI HOUSE
As a special guest at Bli Bli House you will enter a world of your own in the private comfort of your luxurious large suite with a four poster king or queen bed with a controlled climate reverse cycle air conditioner. In the suites you can snug up in front of the Victorian fire place or unwind in your double spa. The guest areas are enhanced with piped music and in all the suites there is a personal kitchenette and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, LCD TV, DVD player.
You choose between one of the five Victorian suites in the private guest wing of this 1874 house.
The guest drawing room creates its own coffee lounge feel with a large range of coffees and tea offered from the self-service coffee bar. If you have the time.. feel free to lounge around and read a book in front of the fire place in winter or in air conditioned comfort in the hotter months. You may choose a game of chess or just enjoy a quiet conversation with your partner. You may even choose a DVD from a large range of “in house” movies and retire to you room to watch it on your flat screen TV.
Bli Bli House sets a high standard of gracious luxury catering by its own award winning chef. Breakfast is like a banquet as you choose from so many varieties of cereals, juices and fruit followed by your choice of a cooked breakfast from our specially prepared menu. Some evenings we offer dinners in our boutique “Chandlier Restaurant”… an experience not to be missed. Dinners need to be booked in advance.
OVER A CENTURY OF HISTORY FOR OUR GUESTS TO EXPERIENCE
Bli Bli House is an historic building dating back to the 19th century. Originally built in Gympie, Queensland in 1874 during the gold rush era it was transported 100 kms to the Sunshine Coast in 1975. It became part of Nostalgia Town, a pioneer village tourist attraction in the 1980’s. My wife, Merryl and I bought Bli Bli House in May 2001 with the view to transforming the property into a luxury bed and breakfast and boutique event centre. The next fifteen years was one of the most adventurous journey’s of our lives as we renovated, restored and relocated this authentic masterpiece! We spent the first 11 years renovating, refurbishing, opening and growing our BnB dream. We reproduced historic styles and charm from the nineteenth century creating splendor, elegance and romance for every guest experience. The only limitation was the location and size of the block which was in suburbia on a main road. An incredible opportunity happened in 2013 when a developer bought our land but allowed us to keep the historic house. We loved our house so much that we went the extra mile and cut it into 3 pieces and moved it. We found an amazing river front acreage with an interesting history to tell our guests. We enthusiastically started all over again redeveloping our new property. We reassembled the house in a different configuration and added three new guest suites and a grande entrance foyer. After being closed for only 9 months we reopened on Easter 2015.
THINGS TO DO
The Sunshine Coast is a great place to stay. Bli Bli House is centrally located with easy access to the motorway to get to shops, beaches and tourist attractions and just a short distance from the airport. Mudjimba beach is just a couple of minutes down the road.
There are many things to do from strolling along world famous pristine beaches just minutes from our door to the mountains and lush rain forest and waterfalls of the hinterland. We are very close to the glamour of Mooloolaba and Noosa with its fine dining and sporting activities and many other fascinating attractions.
Visit the wonders of the deep at Underwater World or spend a fun day at Australia Zoo only twenty minutes from Bil Bli House.
Explore the Eumundi Markets – Saturday or Wednesday, Visit nearby Yandina, stop in at the world’s largest ginger facility at Buderim Ginger Factory
If 4X4 is your choice of travel, why not explore the beaches of Noosa North Shore
If you love shopping, you have to put Sunshine Plaza at Maroochydore on your list. Fishing and surfing are in abundance at all local beaches or take in the beauty of the waterways, Harbour River Canal Cruise or Cruise Maroochy or the Whale Watching Cruise
OUR RIVERSIDE RETREAT
Now that we have relocated to a new property we have created many new activities for you to enjoy.
- Duck feeding beside the river at sunrise and dusk. If you would like to feed the ducks please ask for some bread from our hosts and you will be able to feed them from your verandah. Feeding hours are usually between 7 to 8 am or 4 to 6pm
- Fish feeding throughout the day at Stingray Bay. Ask your hosts at breakfast and they will give you some bread and show you where you can feed the fish during the day.
- Fishing from the rocks. We suggest that you do as some of our fishing enthusiastic do and that is to bring their own rods and fish off the rocks. There are flathead, bream and for the very competent Mangrove Jack in the river.
- Bird watching from your own private verandah. Throughout the day many different types of birds gather around the river and in the trees.
WEDDINGS AT BLI BLI HOUSE
- Our wedding gazebo has been built just beside the river so we can have beautiful outdoor wedding ceremonies throughout the year. It is a picturesque sight to see the bride and groom standing with the river as their background.
- We offer many special packages for our riverside weddings which can be followed with Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments in the grounds or under white gazebos.
- We are also able to cater for wedding receptions for up to 40 people in our Chandelier Room or parties of 100 with finger food. Ask our hosts for more information. We usually formulate a package especially for you
- We offer accommodation packages for the bride and groom and their families. Wedding are always elegant and fun at Bli Bli House!
HIGH TEAS AND FUNCTIONS AT BLI BLI HOUSE
Bli Bli House is a mini function and event centre. We cater for up to 30 people on our Chandelier room.
High Teas are something that our customers are raving about. Why don’t you book your next event or party and enjoy a high tea at Bli Bli House. Ask our hosts about the menu and the costs.
Boutique Events and Functions. We are often catering for small parties and celebrating special occasions with families. Quite often the guests book out the accommodation and enjoy the place to themselves as they celebrate a special time in their lives.
Photo Shoots. Many brides and wedding parties choose to have their photos taken here at Bli Bli House. There has even been a photo shoots for the launch of the latest Mercedes sports car. Ask for prices and suggestions from our hosts.
GUEST POOL ROOM
For those who love playing billiards or pool we have a pool table up on the first floor. If you are not sure of the rules there is a chart on the wall to explain all the rules for you. (if there are other guests in the BnB we would ask you to be sensitive to any noise being made upstairs after 9.30 pm)
There is also a fuse ball table. Feel free to pull ot out a bit to make playing easier.
Our reading nook is just beside the pool room for those who would like to sit and relax around a book. There are a number of tourist brochures of various tourist destinations around the Sunshine Coast it you would like to take up there and browse through them.
